I caught up with the Championship 1 match between CIYMs and Dromore at Belmont Park on Saturday afternoon.
Dromore applied the early pressure in the first ten minutes but CIYMS gradually worked their way into the game and it was the home team that opened the scoring 16 minutes in with Max Shannon stretching for the line close to the posts for Paddy Beverland to convert for a 7 – 0 lead.
Dromore pushed hard for a response but the CI defence worked hard and CI went further ahead thanks to a Beverland penalty 25 minutes in to take the score to 10 – 0 somewhat against the run of play.
Dromore had had the buk of possession and they finally got their reward when their wing forward broke clear down the middle to dive over for a try , converted by Adam McDonald to take the score . . .
