i picked up a hockey/rugby double header at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon starting with Owls III’s Junor 7 league match against local rivals Castle III’s in an early pass back.

The early start led to Castle fielding some of their veteran players as the game started and Owls looked to take advantage in a dominant first quarter. Unfortunately, for the home side, they were unable to convert a hand full of chances and the first quarter ended 0 – 0.

Castle’s reinforcements started to arrive during the second quarter but Owls were finally able to convert one of their chances with Jan Calwell slotting in the opener to give Owls a 1 – 0 lead as the game approached . . .
