Academy kicked of their season with a big win in the Junior Shield Group 3 match against Donaghadee at Roughfort on Friday night.
With the nights starting to draw in I only covered the first half of this game but there was plenty of action as Academy racked up a 26 – 0 lead in an impressive performance.
The home team got off to a good start with No 8 Stuart Martin crashing over for an early try, converted by Michael Wilson, for a 7 – 0 lead.
Dee looked to regroup and applied some pressure in the Academy half but the home side’s defence held firm and after licking their way upfield they added a second try nine . . .
