We caught up with CIYMS at Carrickfergus on Saturday afternoon as they kicked off their season with a Junior Cup Group 1 match.
It was a bit of a scrappy first half at the Tom Simms Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon as the teams dusted off the cobwebs and adjusted to the new tackle laws in their first competitive match this season.

The flow of the game wasn’t helped by a few early injuries, with both teams having to swap out players in the opening minutes, but Carrick looked to be making the best fist of it as they kept CI pinned in their own half for the bulk of the first quarter.
