Ulster U18 and U16 sides welcomed their Scottish midlands counterparts to Larne Rugby Club on Saturday afternoon for the first of two preseason hit outs over the weekend.
I caught up with the U18 sides on Saturday for their first game which took part over three 20 minute periods.
The Ulster side was pretty much in control from the start coming close on a couple of occasions before Tara O’Neill crossed out wide for the opening score after 10 minutes for a 5 – 0 lead.
The Scottish side defended resolutely but late tries from Ruby Starrett and Anna Wilson, both converted by Leah Irwin saw Ulster take a 19 – 0 lead . . .
