I popped down to the IRFU on Saturday on a bit of a busman’s holiday. I was there primarily to watch our two academy players who were turning out for Ulster U16 and U18 sides.
It was a busy day with each province fielding two teams in each age group giving a total of 24 games over the day. However, I only covered the games our players were involved in.
Our U18 representative was Ruby Starrett who captained Ulster U18 2 in the three matches below.
Match 04: Pool A – ULSTER 5 LEINSTER 43
It was a tough opener for the Ulster U18 Girls who seemed slow to the breakdown in the first half as leinster ran riot.
There was a marked improvement in the second half and they finished strongly with Ruby Starrett going over for a late try.
