A close and exciting match ends in victory for Queens University

In a close and exciting match, Queens University RFC beat Ballymena RFC 29-24 in the Senior Cup Semi Final at Eaton Park on Saturday 8th April 2023.

The match was played on a dry but chilly afternoon in front of a decent sized crowd. Both teams started brightly and it was Ballymena who took an early lead when some good forward rucking drove No 2, Andrew Ferguson over to open the scoring. No 10, Ross McKay stepped up to add the conversion to give Ballymena a 7 – 0 lead.

Not long after, a bit of indiscipline by Queens gave McKay the chance to add a further 3 points to the score to put Ballymena 10 – 0 ahead.
