On a sunny, but cool, Tuesday evening, Ulster Women hosted visitors from across the water, British Police, in a friendly at Newforge.
Initially the Police had most of the possession but found it hard to turn this into territory. Ulster pushed the Police back but couldn’t gain possession.

Eventually the deadlock was broken, when Sophie Barrett took possession 15 metres out, before driving through defenders and crashing over for the opening try after 18 minutes. Amanda Morton added the points and Ulster led 7-0.
Ulster began to make breaks. On 24 minutes Sophie Meeke was put clear to run round behind the posts. Morton’s conversion put Ulster 14-0 up.
