All Ireland Qualifier: Queen’s University Belfast 5 University College Cork 3 AR

The Queen’s University Women’s Hockey team were in action early on Saturday afternoon as they took on University College Cork in the EYHL Qualifying playoff quarter-final.

The match was played at the Dub, and the home side started brightly. They took the lead in the 13th minute when Zoe Wilson’s penalty corner was turned in by captain Alyssa Jebb.

Queen’s continued to push forward in the second quarter, with the wonderful Wilson pulling the strings, but UCC began to work their way into the game and, after a couple of penalty corners, the visitors found the net with the lively Caoimhe Perdue getting the final touch to tie the game 1 – 1 after 28 minutes.
