On Friday, at Lisburn Racquets, Netball NI held its Schools Finals Day. Sixteen finals took place in the Minor, Junior, Intermediate and Senior Age Groups.
One of our featured schools, Banbridge Academy, appeared in three of the finals.
Junior Shield: Banbridge Academy A 14 Glenlola Collegiate 20
This was a very even contest with only a couple of goals separating the teams at halftime. In the final quarter, Glenlola pulled away.
Senior Plate: Banbridge Academy B 12 Belfast High School 39
Banbridge came up against a very skilful, ruthless Belfast High side, who dominated all 4 quarters, starving Banbridge of possession and limiting their shooting chances.
Senior Bowl: Banbridge Academy A 28 Glenlola Collegiate 32
At one point just after halftime Glenlola lead by 11 goals, but Banbridge steadied the ship in the 3rd quarter and dominated the 4th quarter, at one point getting within 2 goals, before Glenlola closed the game out.
