Medallion Plate: Royal School Dungannon 5 Methodist College Belfast 22 Final

I caught up with the Medallion Plate final between Royal School Dungannon and Methodist College Belfast on Tuesday afternoon at Friends School Lisburn.

Heavy snow started to fall about 15 minutes before kick of at Friends. Although it cleared midway through the first half and bright sunlight returned it remained bitterly cold and the ball remained slippy which had an impact on the game.

A fired up Dungannon side certainly enjoyed the territorial battle in the first half but it was Methody who were first on the scoreboard with a well struck penalty from Peter Molloy on the 18th minute to take the score to 0 – 3.

Dungannon continued to press and their efforts were eventually rewarded just before half time with
