I called into Neillsbrook Park on my way back from Meadowbank Arena to catch the Junior Plate Pool C match between Randalstown and Omagh Academicals II.
It’s been a while since I’ve made it to Randalstown but they usually produce an entertaining game and this one didn’t disappoint.
It didn’t look good for the home side in the early exchanges as Omagh ran in three tries in first 10 minutes to take a 0 – 19 lead. Center Andrew Catterson opened the scoring in the fifth minute with fellow centre James Hawkes crossing two minutes later. Scrum half Alex Cahoon scotted over for the third two minutes after that, out half Will Stewart converting two.
