The third and final game at Havelock Park, Banbridge, on Wednesday, was the Burney Plate Final between Cookstown High School and Sullivan Upper School. The rain, which started intermittently, in the previous game, now fell incessantly, creating thoroughly miserable overhead conditions.
Despite some enterprising play from both sides, defences cancelled out attacks and halftime was reached scoreless.
Complete with mask, Phantom of the Opera, Cookstown Captain, Mark Cuddy ghosted in to score from a penalty corner, after 35 minutes.
