Wallace High and Royal Belfast Academical Institution contested two semi finals on Wednesday afternoon. First up we had the two schools meet in an Ulster Hockey Burney Cup semi final at Stormont Pavilion with a 13:00 pass back.

The pass back was delayed by 10 minutes for an extra watering of the pitch and it was Wallace who had the better of the early exchanges. RBAI got up to speed and in the end it was a fairly even first quarter.

Instonians came close to opening from a penalty corner but a fine save from Matthew McLearnon kept the scoreboard untroubled and it was Wallace’s captain Josh Kamalarajah who got it ticking over three minutes later after a penalty corner for Wallace.
