We caught up with the Ulster Rugby Schools Trophy quarter final replay on Wednesday afternoon at Lower Cairncastle Road, between Larne Grammar and Lurgan College, the previous meeting having finished at 10 – 10.
The match kicked off in bright sunshine with a strong and cold wind blowing diagonally down the pitch in Larne Grammar’s favour.
However, it was the visitors that made the better start, keeping the game tight, but Larne defended resolutely, keeping their line in tact and looking for an opportunity to break out.
With the bulk of the play in the Larne half the pressure finally told and Lurgan worked a try out wide for their winger Andrew Richardson to round the defence for the first score.
