On Sunday afternoon, we took in the National Indoor Finals, played, this year, at the Antrim Forum. Indoor hockey is played over 4 x 10 minute quarters, with rolling substitutions. It’s a test of agility, skill, stamina & flair. This year’s women’s final was contested between Ards & Railway Union from Dublin.
In an even 1st quarter, Railway started to shade possession. Territory doesn’t matter in this frenetic format. In the closing seconds Orla Patton struck from a penalty corner to give Railway1-0 lead.
