We took in the pick of the Medallion Shield quarter finals at Barban Hill as Dromore High entertained Belfast Royal Academy on Saturday morning.
We were expecting this the be the closest of all the Medallion Shield quarter finals and so it proved.
Dromore got the scoreboard ticking over with a penalty from No 13 Luke Dillon after 5 minutes. Academy’s scum half Conor McVicker pulled it back to 3 – 3 six minutes later with his first penalty.
The home team piled on the pressure for the next ten minutes but the Academy defence held firm and they broke down field for Aaron Brolly to go over in the corner for an unconverted try to push the score to 3 – 8 in the Academy’s favour.
