On Sunday, at lunchtime, Queens II played Portadown in a Suzanne Fleming Cup tie at The Dub.
In the damp, overcast, cold conditions this turned into a forward slugfest, with little back play and almost no kicking.
Queens opened the scoring after 7 minutes, with a Layla Holden try for a 5-0 lead. The war in the trenches continued & Queens doubled their lead on 23 minutes, through Rebecca Mann’s try.

Portadown gained territory and possession. Abrasive flanker, Jolene McMorris-Cloughley grabbed a brace of tries on 27 and 33 minutes to equalise, before Sophie Hipson’s try left Queens leading 15-10 at halftime.
