Premiership One: Queen’s University 46 Dungannon 0

Early Sunday afternoon Dungannon travelled to The Dub to play Queens in a Women’s Premiership Group One fixture. To their credit, because of injuries, Dungannon fielded a number of inexperienced players, rather that concede the fixture.

Playing against the wind, Queens took the lead after 5 minutes, when Aoife McCormack touched down, for a 5 -0 lead. They doubled their lead on 10 minutes, through Ciara Grogan, when she took advantage of a ball squirting out of a ruck.

Dungannon tried to run the ball out of defence but were forced back by a swarming Queens defence.

Lydia Montgomery’s 14th minute try moved Queens out to 15-0.

Fern Wilson squeezed in at the corner for her 2nd try
