The Ulster Hockey Junior League 4 Cup Final between Bangor III’s and Portrush II’s was the third game at Stormont on New Years Eve.
Bangor caught Portrush on the hop in the opening minutes with Dawie Holley getting the final tap on a second minute penalty corner.

An enthusiastic Portrush looked for a response in the first quarter but weren’t able to find the net and the teams went into the second quarter with Bangor protecting their 1 – 0 lead.
Two quick goals from Bangor’s ace marksman Simon Hunter, the second a lovely turn in the D, put the Co down side well in front and further goals from Ewan O’Dowd and a delighted Simon Scales pushed the score out to . . .
