It’s quite the season for Instonians RFC with the 1st and 2nd XV’s still undefeated in their respective leagues. Immediately after I watched the 2nd XV defend their record against Dungannon I caught up with the 1st’s as they saw off the early challenge from Midleton.
It was a tight enough first half as Midleton pushed for an early advantage. After 8 minutes a turnover close to their own line was spun wide to Instonians full back Jonathan Milliken who sprinted up the right wing to chip inside as the defenders converged. Thee bounce of the ball took out the last defender and Bevan Prinsloo snapped it up to cross unopposed for the opening try. Milliken added the extras to give Inst an unlikely 7 – 0 lead.
