On Sunday afternoon, at Lisnagarvey HC, Ulster U21 Women played Leinster U21 Women in the U21 Women’s Interprovincial Championship, in a game, moved from last week.
This game was decided in the 58th minute, when Ulster’s Zahra Lowry slotted home the winner, with time running out.
With almost 4 scoreless quarters, it could have been suggested that the game lacked skill and excitement, nothing could have been further from the truth.

In the 1st quarter, Ulster gradually increased the pressure, but the final pass went astray or was cut out by the Leinster defence. Chances were created at both ends, though the Leinster keeper was the busier.
