We caught up with Carrickfergus Grammar on a dark and dreary Saturday morning as they welcomed Grosvenor Grammar to their new hockey pitch for a delayed Ulster Hockey Girls Schools Cup match.
Grosvenor were looking for a strong performance after the disappointment of their defeat to Larne Grammar in the Tier B final of the Superleague on Wednesday and they opened their account in the first quarter with a goal from Eve Albert.

The second quarter was fairly even and Grosvenor but a late strike from Eva Wainwright saw Grosvenor take a 0 – 2 lead into the half time break.
