I caught up with the Medallion Shield first round match between Lurgan College and Wellington College on Wednesday afternoon at Lough Road.
Wellington got off to the best of starts with No 8 Adam Blane running in a try from the kick off to give Wellington a 0 – 5 lead.
Lurgan responded five minutes later as Kody Watson battled down the left to go over in the corner and tie the game 5 – 5.
In a purple patch for the home team Andrew Bird went over in the same corner, four minutes later, after spotting a bit of space at a ruc, to put Lurgan in front 10 – 5.
