At lunchtime, on Saturday Queens II faced University of Ulster Elks II in a McConnell Shield fixture at The Dub, Upper Malone.

Queens caught Elks cold with an Amy Kimber goal, after 3 minutes. Their pressure continued but Queens couldn’t add to the solitary goal to lead 1-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Queens pressure continued in the 2nd quarter. It was against the run of play when Elks equalised through a Aoibhin McDonnell strike after 22 minutes.

It was 1-1 at halftime.
