Intermediate Men: PSNI 11 Antrim 0

After a rough morning with “man flu” or a cold in normal parlance I crawled out of my sick bed and made my way to Newforge to catch the Ulster Hockey Intermediate men’s league clash between the PSNI and Antrim, the Police side playing their first fixture of the season in this competition.

An out of sorts Antrim are probably wishing that the PSNI had left it for an other week as this was a pretty one sided game with the home side dominant from the pass back.

With the Westlink even slower than usual I was a few minutes late and the match had already started with the PSNI leading 1 – 0 thanks to a goal from David Coates and they doubled their lead right at the end of the first quarter with Adam Marshall sending home a penalty corner.
