Larne Grammar and Grosvenor Grammar met in the Tier B Superleague Final on Wednesday afternoon at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club.
It’s a match I’ve been looking forward to since the semifinals for two reasons. As a Larne Grammar old boy I was obviously looking forward to covering my old school but I was also keen to view the head to head between two dynamic young players, Larne’s Isla Allen and Grosvenor’s Eva Wainwright, who had caught the eye in previous matches I’ve covered this season.

Grosvenor started on the front foot, Larne taking some time to settle into the game. The Belfast side had the better of the first quarter and it was somewhat against the run of play when Larne took a 1 -0 lead, nine minutes in, with a field goal from . . .
