Championship 1: Cooke 15 Clogher Valley 22

I popped along to Shaw’s Bridge on Saturday afternoon for the Ulster rugby Championship 1 Top 3 clash between Cooke and Clogher Valley, hoping for a good game, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Clogher Valley started the afternoon at the top of the table, unbeaten after their first five games, and Cooke were on a run of three wins on the bounce, their only loss this season to second place Ballyclare.

Cooke started the game well enjoying the bulk of possession in the opening exchanges until Colgher worked their way into the Cooke 22 for a series of pick and drives to create space on the left for Taine Haire to round the defence for the opening score after 10 minutes.

Taine Haire scored an important brace of tries for Clogher Valley.
