On a pleasant, sunny Wednesday afternoon Ballymena Academy U16 travelled to Cranmore, to play Royal Belfast Academical Institution U16 in the Schools U16 Cup.

Inst caught Ballymena cold from kick off. An attack from deep, after 3 minutes, allowed James Kerr to race in from his own half to score behind the posts. Ben McCausland’s conversion gave Inst a 7 – 0 lead.

Worse was to follow for Ballymena. From another attack from deep Harry Beggs went over in the right corner for an unconverted try . . .
