Ballyclare opened the scoring after 2 minutes with L Mackenzie bagging a try for C Gillen to convert taking the score to 7 – 0

Ards on the attack in the first half.

Ards responded on the 15th minute with an unconverted try from Matt Walker and two minutes later Matthew Kane added a penalty to give Ards a one point lead with the score a 7 – 8.

Ballyclare head for the line in the second half.

The home team hit back less than 10 minutes later with an unconverted try from captain A Ottey and K McComb crossed with the last play of the half . . .
