1st XI Superleague: Banbridge Academy 3 Coleraine Grammar 1

We caught up with the Ulster Hockey School Girls 1st XI Super League on Saturday morning as Banbridge Academy hosted their counterparts from Coleraine Grammar at Havelock Park.

The superleague is a competition to decide the seeding for the Girls 1st XI Schools Cup.

There was a slight chill in the air for the 9:15 am kick off but things soon heated up on the pitch as the players got into their stride. After fairly even opening exchanges the home team started to get on top and their advantage was rewarded with a goal towards the end of the first quarter with a shot from Pippa Wilson wrong-footing the Coleraine defence to give Banbride a 1 – 0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
