An Ireland U18 boys series, also against Scotland, ran alongside the U16 boys matches at Ulster University, Jordanstown, over the weekend.
The U18 sides were also welcomed to the field by the swirling sound of bagpipes and they seemed to have the desired effect with Scotland getting an early goal as Owen Gould converted a penalty corner four minutes in.

Ireland settled into their task in a tight game but they were unable to find the net and the first quarter ended with Scotland defending their one goal lead.
