Much too early on a grey, drizzly Friday morning Ulster U16 Boys met Wales U16 Boys in game 3 of a 3 Match Series. Ulster won the first two encounters 8-0 and 4-1 respectively, so this was effectively a dead rubber, with only pride to play for. The Ulster coaches experimented with their large squad, trying new combinations.
Ulster took control from the push back, controlling play and, though they created chances, they couldn’t convert any in a scoreless 1st quarter.

It was much the same fare in the second quarter. A Milo Thompson strike late in the quarter, following a penalty corner, broke the deadlock and gave Ulster a 1-0 halftime lead.
