On Sunday the Rosie Stewart Memorial Bowl was played in front of a large crowd at Shawsbridge. An impressive Barbarians selection from clubs throughout Ulster and beyond, played Rosie’s home club, Cooke.
It took Cooke only 13 minutes to race to a 10 – 0, through tries by Helen McGhee and Kelly McCormill. The Barbarians settled and a strong defence kept Cooke at bay for the remainder of the half.
Cooke’s 10 – 0 halftime lead was halved on 50 minutes, when Jana McQuillan scampered in down the left wing to score in the corner.
