The Intermediate Cup between Ballymena II and Larne was my second final of the day and one of six finals yesterday played over two pitches at the Queens University Facilities at Upper Malone.
By push back at noon, there was strong sunshine and a slight breeze, making for ideal overhead conditions.
Larne started brightly, not allowing Ballymena to settled and took a 6th minute lead, through Ellen Heggan. Play was even, with both keepers tested but Larne had the midfield edge. There was no further scoring, and Larne held a slender 1-0 lead at the break.
