Banbridge Hockey Club welcomed Catholic Institute to Havelock Park early Sunday morning for a Irish Hockey Senior Cup tie.
The early Sunday start seemed to affect the home side the most with Insta grabbing two early goals in the first quarter.
Niamh Carroll stroked in the first from a penalty corner after four minutes and a minute later Leah Cleary bagged the second to give Insta a 0 – 2 lead.
The game settled down as Banbridge slowly woke up but insta took firm control of the game with a third first quarter goal, this one from Hannah Kelly.
