Monkstown travelled up from Dublin for this EYHL Division 2 Pool 2 league fixture with Queens at Upper Malone on Saturday.
Monkstown had much the best of a scoreless 1st quarter, testing the queens keeper on a number of occasions.
Eventually pressure told and Chloe Watkins opened the scoring for Monkstown after 23 minutes.
However, it was short lived, when, perhaps against the run of play Sophie McDowell, equalised on 27 minutes.
It was 1-1 at halftime.
In the 3rd quarter Monkstown closed Queens down, not allowing them to settle on the ball, making visits to the Monkstown half infrequent.
