The Men’s All Ireland Indoor Trophy was contested between winners and runner’s up from Leinster and Ulster’s provincial tournaments. The first semi final between Ulster’s winners Banbridge and Leinster’s runners up Railway Union saw Banbridge take the lead through outdoor international Johnny McKee‘s goal in open play, however Railway Union’s penalty corner routines were clinical and despite 2 late goals from Banbridge, Railway secured their place in the final with a narrow 4-3 win.
The second semi final between Three Rock Rovers and Cookstown saw the Leinster champs, Three Rock leading 3-1 lead after half time despite some strong defending from Cookstown. Cookstown continued to create chances against a deep press in the second half, but Three Rock showed speed and skill in their counter attacks as well as some precision drag flicking from Ross Canning and managed to extend their lead and deny Cookstown any chance of a late comeback.
