Banbridge entertained Ulster Elks in a Women’s Premier League Match at Havelock Park on Saturday afternoon with the home side looking for a win to give them an edge in their battle with Lurgan and Queen’s University for a Top 6 finish in Phase 1.
The game took a while to get going in damp and windy conditions, fortunately the bulk of the rain stayed away.
The teams took most of an uneventful first quarter to sound each other out with neither side dominating. However Elks took a one goal lead into the break following a successful Lucy Craig strike from a penalty corner just before the quarter ended.

The fairly sedate pace continued . . .
