Ards welcomed Larne to Hamilton Park for a first round Towns Cup match on Saturday afternoon.
The home side started strongly with a fairly direct game up the middle and they were on the scoreboard early with a successful penalty after 6 minutes to take a 3 – 0 lead.

Larne were living off scraps as Ards continued to enjoy the best of territory and possession but the visitors made the most of what they had as Robbie Doey broke down the left to outpace the defence and score the first try. Euan Glenn added the conversion and Larne led 3 – 7 after 25 minutes.
