On a grey Saturday morning Regent House met Our Lady and St Pats in a Medallion Shield Tie at Hamilton Park, home of Ards RFC. A strong, cold northerly wind would prove to be a major factor, making ball handling difficult.

Playing against the wind Regent opened the scoring after 2 minutes, when Tom Bell cruised over wide out on the right for an unconverted try. Daniel Moore doubled the lead after 21 minutes with another unconverted try. Our Lady’s defense held firm and Regent took a 10-0 lead into halftime.

After the break, playing with the wind, Regent piled on the pressure. Isaac Lowe, Ethan Spratt, Evan McGonigle and Nathan Weir (2) scored tries, three converted by McGonigle for a resounding 41 – 0 victory over an Our Lady’s side that showed a lot of grit and which never gave up.
