We caught up with Ulster Hockey’s U15 Boys Indoor Hockey Tournament at Antrim Forum on Sunday.
The tournament featured youth teams from the following 6 clubs; North Down HC, Mossley HC, Bangor HC, Lisnagarvey HC, Portadown HC and Antrim HC.
The teams played five games in a round robin series with the top four sides going forward to the semi finals and the winners on to the final. Each game was played over 10 minutes and, well done to, organisers, Ulster Rugby and the club coaches who kept the games to a tight schedule.
The round robin phase was highly competitive, with the results shown below.

Bangor and Lisnagarvey went through to the semi finals as top seeds to play third and fourth placed Portadown and Antrim respectfully.

In two tense and tight semi finals Lisnagarvey progressed to the final after a 1 – 0 win against Antrim and Bangor squeezed through on runs after a 0 – 0 semi final against Portadown.

The final was another close affair with Bangor getting the only score in this fast paced and to end version of the game.

It’s the first time we covered this fast paced game indoors and the pictures are a touch grainy but we’ve still got over 200 from the event below.
