Banbridge Academy and Cookstown High School met yesterday in the semi final of the McCullough Cup, at Lisnagarvey’s ground, in Royal Hillsborough.
By employing a very aggressive defence from the outset Banbridge shut down Cookstown, preventing them from passing out of their own half and starving them of possession.

On 13 minutes Cody Large broke the deadlock, when he found space and struck home to give Banbridge a 1-0 1stquarter lead.
Josh Brownlee doubled the lead after 23 minutes to give Banbridge a comfortable halftime lead.

A gritty Cookstown defense held firm in a scoreless 3rd quarter, before Cody Large sealed the game with a 49th minutes goal, in the 4th quarter, following a break.
Banbridge were worthy of their victory and now look forward to the McCullough Cup Final next week.
