We caught the second half of the All Ireland 2A game between Queen’s University and UL Bohemian at The Dub on Saturday afternoon.
Queen’s have been ripping it up in October with four wins from four in the All Ireland League. A defeat, at home, to Cashel was in danger of derailing their early season charge but a big win against Nenagh Ormond last week set them up to finish the month at the top of the table.

Queens lead 21-3 at the break, when I took up position. Tries by Scott Martin, Ben Heath and David Whitten, all converted by James Humphreys, countered by a penalty goal by Harry Byrne for UL Bohs, gave Queens a commanding half time lead.

Another Martin try, after 49 minutes, consolidated Queens lead and Moore’s try, converted by Humphreys sealed the game.
UL Bohs converted some territory into a consolation try by Trainor on 67 minutes to reduce Queens’ lead to 33 – 8.

Whitten’s second try, after a gallop from his own half, converted by Ritchie McMaster, was the icing on the cake for Queens, who retain top spot in AIL 2A.
