Schools Senior: Larne Grammar 14 Grosvenor Grammar 17 Friendly

Larne Grammar hosted Grosvenor Grammar for an entertaining senior friendly at Upper Cairncastle Road on Saturday morning.

Grosvenor took the lead through an unconverted try from prop but it wasn’t long until Larne edged in front with scoring for to convert, giving Larne a 7 – 5 lead .

An interception by , three minutes later saw Larne extend their lead 14 – 5, after Farquar added the extras.

However, Grosvenor’s struck back for the visitors with a second half brace, one of which he converted, to give the Stags a three point lead with approximately 20 minutes remaining.

Larne pushed hard for a third score and some strong work by in the in goal area kept them in the hunt but the Grosvenor defence held firm with the visitors taking a 14 – 17 win.
