Larne 2nd XV entertained their Civil Service counterparts at the Glynn early Saturday afternoon in a preseason friendly.
Our photographer Nick Murray was on hand to capture the action.
It was the first match back for the bulk of a year for both sides and the game was played in quarters.

The first quarter was fairly even with both sides scoring a try. Larne’s Stephen Johnston crashed over for the opening score after a series of darts at the line from the Larne pack and Service responded through a break out wide by their wing forward.
Rhys Thomas and Barry McFaul both crossed in the second quarter, McFaul converting both to give Larne a 19 – 5 lead at half time.

Civil Service came back with three converted tries in the second half but converted tries from Gareth Jamison and Scott Montgomery plus a Thomas penalty kept Larne in front 36 – 26 at the final whistle.
