With there being little to no hockey played this season, Queen’s decided to run their own internal league to give their students something to look forward too.
With over 95 students involved, the tournament ran across 8 nights and The Front Row Union popped along to cover ‘Finals Night’.
With 3 quality games on offer, it was a great advertisement for Queen’s Hockey and we look forward to working with them closely in the future.
Results
Final
The Tournament was won by Team White who defeated Team Blue 2 – 0 thanks to goals from Chloe McNeilly and Matthew Vincent.
3rd Place
The Third Place Playoff was won by Team Black who beat Team Blue 1 – 0 with Sam Barber getting the vital score.
5th place
Team Red won the 5th Place Playoff with goals from Jamie Weatherup and Claire Whiteside giving them a 2 – 0 win against Team Green.
Players of the Tournament
There were Male and Female Players of the Tournament awards given out by Chloe McIlwaine, QUB Hockey Development Officer for the players efforts over the entire tournament.
Congratulations to Leah Wilson and Martin McKenna for picking up the Women’s and Men’s rewards respectively.
