UWL: Malone 60 Cavan 0

Malone Women pulled of one of the biggest shocks in Ulster women’s rugby with a sensational 60 – 0 win against Cavan Women in their Ulster Women’s League match on Sunday afternoon at Gibson Park.

Malone’s Brógáin Ní Chiarráin stole the show with four tries as the Belfast side romped home. Malone’s other scores came from , , , , and Jo Mc-Clo in the ten try romp. Durkan added five conversions to complete the scoring.

Cavan had their moments with and to the fore but it was just one of those days for the veteran side.

Speaking after the game Cavan’s Ulster player Aishling O’Connell told the Front Row Union:[su_quote]

Our game plan didn’t work and Malone are a seriously well drilled team. Their defence was excellent and we just couldn’t cross the line.

We played so much better than 60-0. It’s a hard lesson but it’s a lesson learnt and we will bounce back.[/su_quote]
