Women: Ulster go through their paces at Portadown RFC.

It’s always a delight to catch up with Ulster Women and it was no exception this morning when I attended one of their training session at Portadown Rugby Club.

I was pleased to see that, after making good progress last season, coaches Philip Doyle and Jarrett Truscott are back for another year and it certainly showed with the standard and complexity of the routines moving up a notch. This was particularly impressive given that there were a lot of new faces taking part.

Unfortunately, due to increased Women’s International commitments, the Inter-provincial season has moved yet again with the fixtures now scheduled for the first three weekends in December. It’s a pity as they’ll now be clashing with a couple of Ulster Men’s European games. 🙁

It’s not the sort of priority that the Women’s game deserves, especially in this Women’s World Cup season but rest assured  that The Front Row Union will bring you full coverage of all the Ulster Women’s games.
