PRO12: Leinster 24 Ulster 11

Ulster went down to Dublin last Saturday and, once again, returned to Belfast empty handed, this time worked over by a rather lackluster Leinster to the tune of 24 points to 11.

Despite outplaying Leinster for much of the game, certainly in terms of possession and territory, Ulster lacked the clinical edge of their opponents, a failing that has been evident all too often this season.

To me it appeared that the bulk of the Ulster players were content to go through their set plays and then sit back and wait for one of their number to seize the game by the scruff of the neck. Certainly the ability to push home their advantage in the first half was missing from the collective and individually the players seemed unable, or unwilling, to change their game and play what was in front of them. This was particularly frustrating as a ragged Leinster were there for the taking.
